Day 1

Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Spring

Your journey starts with an early morning pickup from your hotel before embarking on a 2-hour drive to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu, about 1500m above sea level! You’ll make a short stop at Pekan Nabalu market, a small town featuring many exotic, mouth-watering local fruits such as the sweet mangosteen, hairy rambutan, and smelly yet delicious durian (depending on whether or not they are in season). It’s also a great place to take panoramic photos of the majestic Mt Kinabalu before continuing your journey to Poring Hot Springs.

Upon arrival, you'll be briefed by your guide with two options, either accompany the guide on a 550m nature walk up to the canopy walkway, or have a dip in the relaxing geothermal spring baths. Due to the limited time, you’ll only get to choose one - but whichever option you take is bound to be exciting! Afterwards, have a quick lunch at one of the few restaurants inside or outside the park, or enjoy any meal you managed to pack before or during the journey here. Depart to Kinabalu Park. (Lunch at own expense)

Next, visit the Education Centre and Mountain Garden, a botanical paradise filled with some of the mountain’s unique flora! If weather permits, you can even take a guided walk on one of the trails – a refreshing trek in the pleasantly cool climate of the montane forest (temperatures at the park are usually around a refreshing 14°C - 25°C). Afterwards, you’ll depart from Kinabalu Park at 3.30pm for the journey back to your hotel.
